HI, I followed the exact steps but Mahara could not be installed. I retraced the step tried to deactivate and reactivate but an error shows. Is there a problem with Mahar? any bugs?

Mahoodle is a great tool :) this will enable my students to present their e-portfolios to their university admission board instead of using google sites for e-portfolio. I have one question though. It seems that mahara imports only profile information. Is it possible to have it import blog posts and activities that students did or posted in moodle?

Mahoodle will expand in Moodle V 2.0, this might add a similar feature.

Hi everybody

Today I've heard of you and I couldn't wait a minute to register and install one moodle course that I've been using this year. Unfortunately when I tried to activate Mahara the system told me that the database already exists and when I tried to see Mahara in Firefox I had this message

Mahara: Site unavailable
Mahara could not connect to the application database.

* If you are using Mahara, please wait a minute and try again
* If you are the administrator, please check your database settings and make sure your database is available

The error received was:

at the Control Panel I've got this messages

* Database with requested name already exists
* 1007 The inserted data already exists.
* Database with requested name already exists

Hope you could fix it up, thanks in advance and congratullations for this nice place.

Mahara: Site unavailable
For some reason some of the core data directories could not be created. This should not happen, as Mahara previously detected that the dataroot directory was writable. Please check the permissions on the dataroot directory.

Make sure your maharadata directory has 777 permissions, you can verify this by using FTP or you can contact help desk to resolve it.

Thank you Jai. I can confirm that the directory already has these permissions. Its parent (httpdocs) is showing 750 and its five subfolders indicate 700.

I installed Moodle and Mahara, connected them with Mahoodle and all ran OK.
I have changed my password as administrator in Moodle and now when I try to get from Moodle to Mahara I'm not the administrator in Mahara because I can't see admin settings.
Is that possible?
How I can get the administration of Mahara again?

Thank's

Hello,

I have sent the request to the help desk but for some reason it continually says I have the wrong username and password so I can't access an answer if you have provided one.

I receive this error when attempting to install mahara on my moodle site.

"Mahara: Site Unavailable
For some reason some of the core data directories could not be created. This should not happen, as Mahara previously detected that the dataroot directory was writable. Please check the permissions on the dataroot directory."

Any help available for trouble shooting this error?

Cheers,

Hey,

I forgot to include this information. I have indeed checked permission and they say 0777. If that needs to be changed I'm not sure how to do it.

Cheers,

Heith

Ok. So I have figured out how to change permissions in filezilla, but I am still not solving the problem. I put in a request to the help desk on Sept 1st but haven't received a response. Anyway we can get some help on this? Trying to get this taken care of before the start of the new semester in the 3rd week of September.

Kind regards,

Heith
