Hi, I guess this is not possible, but just in case I'm being too pessimistic. Is it possible to add meta words so that our site can be found more easily by the search engines?

Yes, that would be possible.

Custom Theme feature makes it possible to edit your themes.

I understand then that the meta is edited within one of the files in the theme folder of my choice. Is that right? Could you tell me which one? (I have opened one named meta but I'm not sure if that's the one...

Normally, you will have to edit header.html file of theme but this might vary for some creatively structured themes.
